Instructor Bio:

Lauren Barnas (she/her) of @warpedglassworks is a north New Jersey native and currently lives in Essex County. She attended PennWest University in Pennsylvania for Fine Arts with concentration in painting and graphic design.

Lauren has additional experience in ceramics, sculpture, scientific illustration and has dabbled in many other crafts over the years. However, none of the paths she followed felt genuine and fulfilling until she found stained glass. After stumbling onto a fellow glass artist’s page, she immediately fell in love and dove right in; starting Warped Glassworks in 2021 and never looking back.

Lauren uses her experience with color theory, sculpture, and illustration to create vibrant and dynamic glass pieces ranging from nature to pop culture and everything in between. She aims to shift people’s idea of glass art from church windows and the dated stained glass you find in your grandmas house, to a more modern and lighthearted conversation piece that they can cherish for years to come.
