December Mindful Weaving
In this workshop we will be weaving on a loom! You will be taught how to warp a loom as well as some weaving techniques to create beautiful personalized pieces with fibers, beads and more. I will provide everything from minerals to natural materials if you feel inclined to incorporate any to your weaving. You will also get to go home with your own loom so that you can create beyond this workshop! Together we will co create a safe space and nurture our ancestral energy. I am looking forward to seeing what we all come up with together.
Instructor Bio:
Andrea Fernandez is an artist and environmentalist that is constantly examining the interconnections of life through the relationship between artist and sustainability. Her mixed media work mindfully utilizes biodegradable and ethically sourced materials to inspire her viewers that art can be made with anything! She encourages the expansion of ones relationship with the self and source. By working with the environment, Andreas art teaches us the value in knowing we are not outside of nature but rather an extension of it. Her pieces challenge the viewer, other artists, and herself to explore new methods of sustainability and envision a more healing reality for us as a collective.
